Eye of the Oracle Reader

As I closed the last page just the other day I let out a long hard sigh. Something about Eye of the Oracle really gets me thinking. The amazing power of God, and how he can take such small events, and what seems like such insignificant people and things, and turn it all out for his good, is awe inspiring.

And that is what Eye of the Oracle did to me. And there is one part in the book that I especially enjoyed, when God opens Sapphira Adi’s (one of the main characters) heart and shows her his mercy and love. It was beautiful. Just absolutely beautiful!

The book starts with the Flood (Noah and the Ark), goes to the Tower of Babel, then to the era of King Arthur until finally it reaches modern day. So much happens in those pages, but it’s most certainly not your normal, run-of-the-mill Christian fantasy book, it’s so unusual, and I think that’s why makes it so wonderful to me. I’ve never read a fantasy (or any other fiction for that matter!) book like it. It brought me along with it, and I understood the characters, and what they were feeling and what they were going through. I felt their pain, joy and sorrow. And I loved them all for it. And the depth of the writing, it’s spectacular!

People kind of raise an eyebrow at me when I say that the characters in books are some of my favorite friends, but it’s true. And especially with Eye of the Oracle. Please read it. You wont’ regret it!!

Shiloh V. – My hero when it comes to writing

Mr. Davis, you are very much my hero when it comes to writing!!

I just finished reading Beyond The Reflections Edge. It was so beautifully written! It was epic like Back to the Future but also filled with so many meaningful interactions between the characters, more so then any other story I could think of comparing it to. I loved Nathan’s character. It makes me want to be like Francesca and raise my son with the old fashioned morals and gentlemanly behavior. And the character growth, it felt natural, not forced like I have done in my own writing.

What an incredibly story! I will definitely spread the word about this book and get family and friends to read it.

Katie B. – Helped me so much

Dear Bryan Davis,

I love your books! They are so encouraging spiritually and they always are very hard to put down! I have every book from Dragons in our Midst, Oracles of Fire, and I’ve read Children of the Bard. I also have read your Dragons of Starlight series, and Echos Edge series. It is EXTREMELY hard to find good Christian Fantasy books today, and I’m very happy that your continuing your Dragons in our Midst series!!! That is my favorite of all your books. I have read almost all of your books multiple times, and know them by heart now. 🙂

I started reading them when I was in 5th grade and they really encouraged me to be modest, its sooo hard in the culture today to be modest and seek after God, and your character Bonnie really encouraged me. I feel like I can connect to her, my dad verbally abused me and my mom and left us, but when I was going through that your books encouraged me. I knew Bonnie wasn’t real, but I thought if she could get through it, I could too. Her heart after God and love for others no matter what was inspiring! I’m now going into High School, freshman year!

But I just wanted to let you know that your writing has helped me sooooo much in the last few years, and I honestly hope you keep writing. Oh and if you made movies of Dragon’s in our Midst I would definitely go see them, and encourage all my friends to go too. Thank-you for reading my email!

Avery H. – Brought me closer to God

Reading Echoes from the Edge, I am so caught up in the story! I love music, and I play guitar, but these books have inspired me to further pursue music, so I’m gonna try violin! Mr. Davis, I want to thank you for sharing the talent God’s given you. Reading your books has brought me so much closer to God, and it is always such a good feeling to sit back and read your books. They have brought me through so much. I have read DIOM, Oracles of Fire, and now Echoes from the Edge. Thanks so much. God bless,

Enoch’s Ghost Reader

I just finished reading Enoch’s Ghost once again. Every time I read that story, I can’t help but tear up because of the absolute beauty, loving sacrifice, and incredible mercy contained therein. I am always inspired, one way or another, when reading the stories you write. Thank you, Mr. Davis, for doing what you do.

A Reader – Touched me so deeply

You have no idea how much I love this series, it is my favorite after the Bible. A friend gave me the Dragons in Our Midst Series for my birthday when I was 13, and I have recommended them to anyone who has asked me what were good books to read since then. I love how powerfully God rests on Bonnie! Even though she is not real, The Light of Christ that I see in her is real, and it touched me so deeply. Psalm 139 has become such a powerful chapter to me because of Bonnie and her struggles in the Candlestone. You have no idea how much I have dreamed of being able to meet the characters and be a part of this amazing story where God was so apparent in each and every person. I long and pray for Him to be that apparent and real to me here, because I know that that is what He desires too! Thank you for letting God be your strength and support in all of it.

Lily – I have learned so much

I just finished my annual read through of your books, Mr. Davis. Amazing! Every year, I love them more and more. Each character has a special place in my heart. This year, I was really moved by Enoch’s Ghost. Its theme really spoke to my heart. Thank you so much for writing these wonderful books. They have made my world a better place. I have learned so much from them and am still learning. You have used the talent God gave you to bless others. Thank you.

Albert G. – Bonnie inspired me

Your books have inspired me on many levels. As a college student who is majoring in history and especially loves knights, dragons, and the Arthurian Legend, your books come as a refreshment. However, your books have inspired me to be a better and faithful Christian young man.
My father passed away when I was fifteen and I took it very poorly. My faith was very shaken and I developed depression. I was so depressed that I wanted to kill myself in order to be in heaven and escape the pain. However, through many trials and reading your books, I was able to move on. Part of that reason was because of your character Bonnie Silver. I know that Bonnie is not a real person, but her story still spoke to me. It was if the Lord was saying that look at this fictional character. Her life is way worse than yours, but yet she still remains faithful. Your character Bonnie inspired me to focus more on God and lean on him with my troubles.
Thank you Mr. Davis and I look forward to your next book!
Blessings,
Albert

Luke S. – Enjoyed all of your books

I have just finished reading your book called Liberator. I have found something that reminded me of when in the Bible, Jesus gave his life for us. When Cassabrie gave her life for the slaves, it was like when Jesus gave his life for us. The people had the choice to take the real treatment (the stardrops), or they could deny it and stick with the fake treatment that masked the cure. This is like when we have the opportunity to take Jesus as our Savior (Like taking the stardrop and experiencing pain for a little while but having life in the end.) which will lead to life, or we can refuse and try to come up with our own solution ( Like when some of the people refused thinking that they were really cured and not wanting to bear the pain.) which leads to death.

Thank you for all of the time that you have devoted to writing. I have also read the the other books in the Dragons of Starlight series and the Tales of Starlight  series and cannot wait for the next book to come out. I have also read the Dragons in our Midst, Oracles of Fire, and Children of the Bard series. I am also excited about the new book in the Children in the Bard series coming out. I have enjoyed all of your books and have encouraged my cousins and friend to read them.
