Dear Mr. Davis, We are a home schooling family and my oldest daughter, a voracious reader, begged me for months to read your books because she enjoyed them so much. I finally read the first one in the “Dragons in our Midst” series, and then blasted through the next 8. I must confess there were a few late nights in there, but I enjoyed them so much.
The books have provided alot of wonderful discussions on such a wide variety of Christian topics and the Lord has spoken to my heart on the struggles of being in the “refiner’s fire” and the necessity of daily putting on the “armour of God”. Hmmm… I never thought I would enjoy my teenage daughters’ fiction/fantasy books about dragons so much and it sure has been fun to talk with my kids in “Second Eden” lingo about some very deep issues. Thank you!
Since the next book won’t be out until summer, I think we will reread these and turn them into a book study and see what other “themes” (gold nuggets) we can dig up. Any suggestions? Have you ever thought about doing a book club/reader’s guide of some kind? These were great books ~ Thanks for providing my family a new way of connecting and for all of the “teachable moments” Billy and Bonnie, Walter and Ashely, and company have provided. PS Is Sir Barlow really gone… or was he captured in a candlestone and will he return for the final battle?
