Jan Y. – Kindle holy flame

I finished Enoch’s Ghost yesterday, Mr. Davis. It went far beyond what I had even begun to imagine, given the spoilers that were unintentionally picked up.

I cried. Makaidos’ sacrifice for the souls of his daughters was brilliant. Karen went down a hero; and crossed into eternity with the joy-bells of heaven ringing. Roxil’s transformation into a human body…well…that was simply fantastic. What a wonderful way to demonstrate her internal ‘release of the reins’. She who despised humans for centuries, and chaffed under the constraints of a human form in Dragon’s Rest, became content to be wherever God placed her. It was almost as if Makaidos’ auterkeia was transferred down to her. And that was amazing.

I laughed. There’s a new name for comic relief – Larry. ^^ And Walter, of course, but I almost think Larry has him beat. Always a light moment when either come around. And Yereq? I’ve been rooting for him ever since I read Eye of the Oracle a year ago. Glad to see him in action, and on the right side. =D

I shuddered. The Lake of Fire scene chilled me. What a horrible…unfathomably horrible…place. Walter learning to understand Ashley’s terror was very done, I thought. And speaking of Ashley and Walter, I really appreciated their conversation on the steps of Hades. You, as always, do a wonderful job of portraying relationships that demonstrate loyalty, purity, love, and chivalry. And you do it without weaving in romantic blather that spoils everything. Thank you. That means a lot.

Oh…there was so much more. Every book simply gets better and better. I finished Last of the Nephilim just an hour ago, but that would take too long to comment on. ^^

Again, thank you. The gift God gave you has been used to show the love of the Lord to a girl who thought she could never find favor with her Creator, to kindle holy flame in her heart, and to strengthen her as she fights on as an Oracle of Fire. For that, I can never repay you in full.

P.S. On to the Bones of Makaidos!
