Hi, Bryan! I met you in Pensacola at Aletheia Christian Academy and then at the Lifeway Christian Bookstore where you signed a copy of I Know Why the Angels Dance for me. I just finished reading it, and I wanted to let you know it truly blessed me. The last two years brought the deaths of both my father and mother, both unexpectedly and within 18 months of each other. Both were wonderful Christians. My mom’s death brought much pain to us kids because of the dementia that had taken her from us several years ago and the regret of lost moments. A well-meaning man at the funeral more or less chastised us kids for exhibiting such grief when we knew where our mom was now. Even a very soft spoken uncle spoke up in our defense by saying, “Even Jesus wept.” When Tabitha speaks to John at the end and explains the error in John’s earlier thoughts on grieving for departed Christians, it truly blessed me.
I thank you for that book if just for its confirmation to me that it is okay for us to have been sad (and to still be sad) over our sweet mother’s death.
I look forward to reading others of your books.
Thanks and God bless your ministry.
