My Spring 2015 contest begins May 1 and runs to the end of the month. Announcing it now gives you time to prepare.
First, the prizes:
Grand Prize – An Amazon Kindle (Paperwhite Model), Books for Life, and any four of my published books.
Second Prize – Books for life and any four of my published books.
Third Prize – Any four of my published books.
Special swag (promotional products) prizes – Daily drawings throughout the month for smaller prizes, such as posters and bookmarks.
(Books for life means that I will send you a free copy of every book I publish for the rest of my life, or the rest of yours, whichever ends first. This assumes that you send me changes of address notifications whenever you move.)
The contest:
Every day in May, I will post a trivia question on this blog from either Omega Dragon or Reapers. The first person who comments with the correct answer to the question will be entered in the prize drawing, which will take place on the first day of June. This means that 31 people will be entered by the end of the month.
Once you are entered successfully by being the first to correctly answer a question, you will not be eligible to enter the month-end drawing again, though you can still qualify for the daily swag-prize drawing no matter how many swag prizes you win. With each question, I will announce what the swag prize is for the day.
To enter the swag drawing, just post this comment on the daily blog question – “I’m in for the swag!”
In order to qualify for the swag drawing for any given day, you must post your swag comment by midnight Central US time that day. A swag-entry comment on one day qualifies you for the swag prize for that day only. It does not qualify you for swag prizes for the following days. You must comment each day that you want to qualify.
If you attempt to answer a question, and you are not the first to answer correctly, you may continue to try answering each day.
You may attempt to answer the question and qualify for the swag drawing, but to do both, please comment twice, once with your answer to the question and a second time with your swag comment.
In order to “win” for the day with the correct answer, you must identify yourself, either by posting with a user name or by giving your name with your answer. If you post anonymously and don’t provide a name, I cannot give you credit for answering correctly.
I plan to post the questions at a different time each day in order to be fair to people in various time zones.
I will be the sole judge regarding which answer is the first correct response. If an answer is not specific enough, I will reject it. If I ask for a specific name or place from a book, spelling will count.
How to prepare:
Prepare by owning and reading Omega Dragon and Reapers. Then, when May rolls around, be ready to pounce on the question when it’s posted, which will usually happen early each morning. It will help if you “follow” this blog.
This contest is open to anyone, but winners outside the U.S. must agree to pay the extra shipping charges (the difference between U.S. domestic shipping and shipping to their location) for any prizes.

Yay, contest! I love contests! This one sounds super-fun! makes a mental note to reread Reapers
I am rushing to finish the Oracles of Fire so I can start Children of the Bard! Can’t wait! 🙂
I’m in for the swag!
Not yet. You will need to post that comment each day in May for that day’s drawing.
So, the contest is on the first Reapers and Omega Dragon?
Yes.
Would it be selfish if we prayed to God to win something?
It is not wrong to pray for necessities and/or blessings that someone is willing to give.
It is, however, wrong to covet something that belongs to someone else.
I own these prizes, but I am offering to give them away, so to request a prize that is being handed out is not coveting.
If, however, someone else wins and you feel jealousy, that is wrong. I trust that you will feel happy for that person.
Got it!
This is an awesome and very generous giveaway Mr. Davis! You bless us readers so much! Thank you!!
cant wait
i better reread reapers
Just ordered Omega Dragon, I am planning to read it twice and reread Reapers before the start of May. Can’t wait!
What does books for life mean?
The meaning is explained in the post. 🙂
So, early in the morning your time? What if we’re asleep when that is? I live in Washington.
Good question. I will have to move it to later. I’ll have to think about it.
I updated this post with regard to the timing of the questions.
Got it! Thanks!
Just received my copy of Omega Dragon!!! Just finished rereading Song of the Ovulum and am moving on to From the Mouth of Elijah! Am anxious to start reading Omega Dragon! Will for sure participate in this contest!
Thank you Bryan Davis for the awesome book series Omega Dragon has an amazing and perfect ending. Most books leave you wondering what happened
Exciting! I just saw this but I’m finishing From the Mouth of Elijah, and I got the other two for my birthday. I’m a fast reader, so hoping to get them done by then!
On Omega Dragon. Love it so far!
I have a few more questions before the contest starts-What level (easy, medium, hard) will the questions be? When you post the questions at different times, will they be the same each time you post them?
I don’t know how to rate the difficulty of the questions, only to say that the answers will be clear in the books. You will not need to interpret anything.
I don’t understand the second question.
Ok. I’ll try to rephrase the second question. When you are posting the questions for the people in different time zones, will they all be the same questions? Or will they be different?
I will post one question each day, not multiple times. The random times means that I will post a question one day at, for example, 7 am central time, which is great for those in the eastern time zone. Many will be awake. But it will not be good for those in the Pacific time zone. They will probably be asleep.
The next day I might post the question at 10 am Central time, which is 8 am Pacific time. That helps those folks, because they are awake while the Eastern time zone people might be at work or at school.
Then the third day, I might post the question at 11 pm. This variety ensures that no time zone gets an advantage over any other time zone. Any given day might favor one time zone while other days favor other time zones.
Ok, thanks!
